I don't have a whole lot of experience with digital photography; in fact, the entirety of my far-too-short photographic career has been with film. So, although I have no idea how to actually edit digital photos, I'll be damned if I'm not gonna try with the rudimentary tools I have at my disposal (iPhoto, the blunt rock to Photoshop's scalpel).

what I did:
- Rotated and cropped the image so that the frame of the mirror creates a vertical line.
- Bumped up the contrast. I like higher-contrast images in general, but increasing contrast also helps to define Anna's outline on the left.
- Increased saturation in order to let the flowers, the red wall, and Anna's pretty face pop.
I still don't like how grainy the image is as a result of increasing the contrast, but that's an issue with the camera settings when the picture itself was taken. Also, the glare of the overhead light in the mirror is distracting and I wish I could get rid of it. Overall, though, I feel like it's much stronger and more evocative.
More to come.
